Harvey Police Department auxiliary officers receive training in City Council chambers
The training occurred the as City Hall was busy while political hopefuls filed petitions at the Office of the City Clerk.

It was a busy day at City Hall Monday as political hopefuls rushed to file their petitions to secure their place on the ballot. But, that wasn’t the only major event occurring.
The Harvey Police Department hosted an in-person training session in City Council Chambers in full view of the public.
Council doors are glass, meaning those entering and exiting the building could see the training, which included what appears to be a mock firearm.
The HWH confirmed that the training included several community service officers, who are not uniformed members of service at HPD, meaning they are not armed with firearms but do carry tasers.
The HWH has yet to confirm if there were uniformed members of service also receiving training. We are still working to confirm additional details.
