Diamond Lee (Chair)
Diamond Lee is a licensed Health Insurance Producer at GoHealth Insurance, where she brings compassion and precision to Medicare case management. With a deep understanding of healthcare needs and a commitment to guiding clients through complex systems, Diamond has become a trusted resource for seniors navigating their coverage options. A proud graduate of Clark Atlanta University, Diamond earned her bachelor’s degree in Mass Media Arts in 2012. Her education laid the groundwork for her strong communication skills and her ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
Following graduation, Diamond returned to her hometown of Harvey, Illinois, where she served in multiple roles that reflected her dedication to community service. Her work with the City Clerk’s Office, the Harvey Public Library, and the Harvey Boxing Club showcased her versatility and passion for civic engagement. Outside of her professional life, Diamond is a spirited sports enthusiast and a lover of dance. Whether she’s cheering on her favorite team or moving to the rhythm, she brings energy and joy to everything she does.
Thuran Peterson
“Thuran “Huee G” Peterson is a recording artist and entrepreneur from Harvey, Illinois. He is the founder of Empty The Vault, a platform that connects music, culture and community advocacy. His work creates spaces for creative voices to thrive and is guided by the philosophy that “Dreamers Live Forever.” He is committed to empowering others and strengthening his community.”
Olivia Obineme
With over 15 years of experience, Olivia Obineme’s career spans reporting, visual journalism, product, partnerships, operations, and community engagement. They are the founder of Third Nook—a space for impactful work across media, arts, and culture focused on community engagement, storytelling, and creative strategy, collaborating with creatives, outlets, and organizations. Through Third Nook, they provide capacity support, guidance, and mentorship independently and with partners, including the Local Independent Online News Publishers (LION), and host Pocket Sessions—1:1 check-ins—for Black women in journalism. They steward the Bronzeville Community Garden and volunteer with local nonprofits. A proud first-generation Nigerian and Baltimore native, living in Chicago since 2017.
