A man was found shot to death early Sunday morning while sitting in his car in a possible retaliatory act after a mass shooting over the weekend.

Yesterday, Jeremiah Adtutubofah, 28, of Chicago, was found shot and killed at 252 Calumet Blvd. around 5:00 A.M., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. It is now suspected the act was retaliatory for a shooting over the weekend, a city spokesperson said in a news release.

Five people, including a four-year-old boy, were shot at house party at 144th St. and Des Plaines Ave. Saturday evening in a mass shooting. All are expected to be okay after they were taken to the hospital for treatment. Around 8:00 P.M., two individuals opened fire. One suspect, Charlies Lipsey, 24, of Richton Park, was shot and killed by a concealed carry holder. The other was also shot and taken into police custody.

Video posted online appears to show the aftermath of the shooting, with Harvey officers standing over a man as he lays on the ground. A firearm is seen next to him:

Saturday’s mass shooting marks at least the second time this year that a child has been shot in Harvey.

In May, Graylin Waters opened fire near 158th St. and Paulina Ave. as Willow James rode home from school in a car with her father. A stray bullet grazed her in the head. Waters has been charged with felony aggravated battery with a firearm in the time since.

Harvey police are slated to hold a press conference this afternoon at 4:00 P.M. at headquarters on Dixie Hwy. to discuss the weekend’s mass shooting and retaliatory incident.
