The Renaissance Letter: What to expect when you sign up for our free newsletter
With the launch of the Harvey World Herald website, we’ve revamped our newsletter, which goes out every other Monday, so you have the latest news to get on your way.

As a community-driven news organization, there’s so much that we’ve done to imbue much of Harvey’s culture into our image. Our name takes after the city’s nickname. The colorway is a nod to Thornton Township High School, the city’s only public high school.
Our free email newsletter is no different. The Renaissance Letter takes after a beloved mural, “the Harvey Renaissance.” It’s a double entendre also celebrates the revival of local news in Harvey.

The latest in Harvey World
You’ll find the most recent headlines from the Harvey World Herald spanning politics, education, business, the arts, public safety, and health.
News around Cook County and the state
Communities don’t exist in a vacuum, and neither does the news.
That’s why we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest coverage from other trusted newsrooms like WBEZ Chicago, CityBureau, Block Club Chicago, Injustice Watch, and Better Government Association (to name a few).
From the Tiny News Collective
The Harvey World Herald is a member of the first Tiny News Collective cohort, a national initiative to jumpstart local newsrooms across America in communities unserved by news media.
We join other bold and audacious news organizations who believe in filling information gaps and reimagining journalism — making it more accessible to actualize democracy for communities long locked out of it.
Here, you’ll find stories from other TNC newsrooms — our partners in the public interest.

We’re filling the void after the collapse of local newspapers decades ago. But we can’t do it without reader support.
