Domestic battery charges dropped against Harvey Park District commissioner
The charges were related to a 911 call Lakeisha Brown made for police assistance at her home in December 2025. But when police arrived, she was arrested instead.

Domestic battery charges were dropped against Harvey Park District commissioner Lakeisha Brown-O’Neal last month.
Brown-O’Neal and her son were facing domestic battery charges following an incident with his girlfriend, Mya Postell on Dec. 29, 2025. Brown-O’Neal called 911 requesting police response to arguing at her home in Harvey.
But when Harvey Police Department officers arrived, she and her son were arrested instead.
On Jan. 20, Postel moved to dismiss charges against during a hearing at Markham Courthouse. She did not disclose the reason for no longer wanting to proceed or testify.
Brown-O’Neal declined to make a comment.
