“Not only did we levy kind of high last year, when you look at your tax bills, a lot of the municipalities levied high as well,” a district finance official said. “So, they levied so much last year, they probably don't need to increase the percentage.”
Since 2018, the district has saved property owners millions since its applied for and secured tax abatements through the Illinois State Board of Education.
It's part of a larger effort to ensure officers are placed at all district schools, officials said.
