STORY IDEA(S)

What reporting project are you seeking to pursue? Why does it matter now? What significance does this have to the Harvey community? Why are you well-suited to do this reporting? Include a possible headline (But, it’s okay if you don’t have one!) For series, include guiding research questions that help frame your reporting (No pressure if you haven’t done any reporting for the project, yet. We wouldn’t expect you to.)

DELIVERABLE(S)

What format will this reporting take? One long article? If it’s a series, what would the stories look like and how many would there be? Is it straight news, a feature, profile, or explainer? What types of multimedia elements or data work, if any, will this involve? Are there any relevant documents you’ll need to collect?

TIMELINE

How long will it take to report this story? For a series or a long story, please break down your larger project into smaller deadlines with a final completion date.

SOURCING

What perspectives are required to best tell this story? Are there opportunities to hear from communities who are often pushed to the margins in these types of stories? If yes, which communities? If you expect challenges to bring sources to the table, what are ways you will work to overcome them?

COMPENSATION

How much do you believe you should be paid to produce this work?
