Harvey library produces bills lists to the HWH

The records span the period of January 2022 to November 2025 and are in response to a suit filed by the newsroom in fall 2025.

The Harvey Public Library District has produced bills lists in response to a lawsuit filed by the Harvey World Herald.

In 2025, the HWH filed a lawsuit against the Harvey Public Library District in pursuit of bills lists after it did not produce them as part of a records request.

In March, the library produced bills from January 2022 to November 2025. See the records for yourself here.

The HWH was represented by Loevy & Loevy.

Amethyst is a 2023 Leader of a New Chicago award recipient, as recognized by the Field Foundation and MacArthur Foundation. She was named to Forbes 30 Under 30. In 2025, she received Public Narrative’s People’s Choice Award.

A Harvey native, Amethyst is a Gwendolyn Brooks Middle School (’11) and Thornton Township High School alumna (‘15) and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from NYU (BA’19). She is an alumna of the Data and Policy Summer Scholar program at the University of Chicago.
