Harvey City Council cancels meeting due to power outage
The power outage postponed a preliminary City Council vote on a proposed feasibility study regarding a community solar project on April 13.

The Harvey City Council was forced to cancel its regularly scheduled meeting on April 13 evening after a power outage disrupted proceedings at City Hall.Â
The outage occurred around 6:40 p.m. during the finance committee meeting and was caused by an accident that damaged a main electrical line, leaving the building without power. Acting mayor Shirley Drewenski said the City Council meeting would be cancelled, citing risks associated with limited visibility due to sunset and lack of elevator access.
Officials were transitioning into a presentation on a proposed community solar project when the power outage occurred. The City Council was expected to vote on a feasibility study in support of the project during the regular meeting.
The next regular City Council meeting is scheduled for tonight, April 27 at 7:00 P.M.
